About The Position

The Sow Farm Assistant Supervisor attends to and cares for swine and assists in supervising employees at the sow farm under the direction of the manager. The role helps ensure standard operating procedures are followed, facilities remain in good working condition, herd health and biosecurity are maintained, and animals receive proper feeding and care. The assistant supervisor maintains accurate farm records and reports, trains and schedules employees, and acts as manager when the supervisor is absent. The position also supports timely and accurate reporting, follows safety and medication protocols, and maintains alarm and emergency systems.

Requirements

• Proficiency in English, including reading and writing.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure standard operating procedures are followed and facilities are in good working condition.
• Maintain herd health and follow company biosecurity requirements.
• Provide proper feeding and care for animals.
• Maintain accurate records and reports related to animals, employees, and farm supplies.
• Train employees on daily processes and procedures using hands-on methods.
• Supervise and schedule employee groups, and act as manager when the supervisor is not present.
• Ensure weekly and daily reports are submitted accurately and on time.
• Follow all safety procedures.
• Follow the farm's assigned medication and vaccination protocols.
• Maintain alarm and emergency systems and respond properly to alarm calls.
