About The Position

Sow farm supervisors manage the farm’s day-to-day tasks, ensure production targets are met, and supervise farm employees. The role includes training employees, organizing their work, overseeing farm procedures and facilities, monitoring production, caring for sows, and ordering supplies and maintenance needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Proficiency in English, including reading and writing.
• A bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is listed as preferred; alternatively, 4 or more years of related experience and/or training, or 2 to 5 years of swine experience, is listed as preferred.

Responsibilities

• Train employees on day-to-day processes and procedures using hands-on methods to develop a competent workforce.
• Create and manage employee work schedules; maintain personnel paperwork, including performance evaluations; and provide constructive, timely feedback.
• Audit the farm to ensure standard operating procedures are followed and facilities are in good working condition.
• Ensure daily and weekly production targets are met, and complete and submit production analysis reports on time.
• Care for and condition sows on the farm.
• Submit orders for farm supplies and maintenance needs.
