About The Position

Responsible for oversight of Supported Work Program, including developing and securing positions within the community for individuals served within program. Responsible for reaching or exceeding contract goal numbers for program. Ensures program operates within fiscal budget set forth by agency, communicating issues or variances appropriately. Maintains accurate documentation, submits billing information and provides follow up information as needed including oversight of subordinate submissions. Responsible for continuing to cultivate positive community relations among sponsoring sources, collateral providers and referral candidates. This includes meetings with ACCESS-VR counselors, with ad-hoc related groups and staff of outside organizations. Assumes primary role of coordinating all referrals to program and works with Job Coaches to determine best means of providing coaching and extending services to the person served. Provides direct coaching and extended services to assigned case load, including performing as role model, providing vocational counseling, transporting employers and utilizing intensive job coaching skills. Provides ongoing mediation of issues with employers. Maintains ongoing communication with subordinates, residential and other programmatic staff regarding potential referrals to the program, issues, concerns, or goals for individual related to vocational out-comes. Provides ongoing supervision, training of staff within the supported work department. Interviews, hires, and performs evaluation of staff within the department. Maintains a safe, orderly work environment Employees may be mandated to work beyond their scheduled shift based on operational needs. Orientation and training will be conducted at the agency Headquarters in Middletown Performs other duties as requested or required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • One year’s experience with population preferred
  • Three to four years of development of employment opportunities and job coaching experience
  • Valid driver’s license that meets agency’s and insurance company’s standards (ongoing throughout tenure)
  • Completion of all mandatory training sessions and medical documents required by organization and regulatory agencies
  • Completion of fingerprinting requirements and subsequent clearance by OPWDD/OMH and agency guidelines
