About The Position

The Assistant Director manages multiple concurrent recruitment projects of moderate complexity with overlapping timelines, including recruitment events, communication campaigns, and multi-channel outreach initiatives. The position develops work plans, coordinates logistics, and prioritizes resources across projects to meet enrollment goals. Using enrollment and cost data, the Assistant Director assesses recruitment activities for effectiveness, recommends adjustments to improve outcomes, and ensures projects remain aligned with available resources and timelines. While final budget authority resides with leadership, the position exercises discretion in managing day-to-day recruitment operations and resolving project-level issues. Collaborates with the admissions team to implement comprehensive recruitment strategies to meet enrollment goals. Coordinates with academic programs to ensure updated and accurate academic offerings, establish recruitment priorities, target markets, and enrollment forecasts. Analyzes trends in higher education and student enrollment, as well as labor market needs to adjust recruitment plans and approaches to identify new prospective student channels. Coordinate recruitment activities including information sessions, recruitment events, conferences, site visits, and virtual outreach. Work in partnership with faculty and program leaders to strengthen program visibility, messaging, and responsiveness to market needs. Coordinates recruitment communications and campaigns in collaboration with University Marketing and admissions operations. Utilizes the admissions solutions (CRM, networking, and community building) to manage personalized outreach, track engagement, and improve conversion across the recruitment funnel. Ensures departmental messaging aligns with institutional mission, branding, and equity goals. Trains and supervises Admissions graduate assistants and assigned student workers to ensure uniform quality of multi-channel communications. Conducts outreach to prospective students, feeder institutions, employers, and community partners. Represents St. Cloud State University at recruitment fairs, conferences, employer events, and informational sessions. Builds sustained relationships with key influencers to strengthen graduate enrollment pipelines. Monitors and reports recruitment metrics including inquiry volume, application conversion, and enrollment yield. Produces regular reports evaluating the effectiveness and return on investment of recruitment activities. Uses data to inform strategy adjustments and provide decision-support to admissions leadership. Maintains knowledge of enrollment trends, recruitment best practices, and competitive landscape. Supports training of staff and student employees participating in recruitment activities and contributes to a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree plus one (1) year of professional experience in admissions operations, enrollment management, or related field OR Bachelor’s degree plus two (2) years of professional experience in admissions operations, enrollment management, or related field
  • Professional experience with CRM utilization and data-informed recruitment strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively with diverse populations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and student success
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Recruitment travel budget planning and management skills.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States on or before the effective date of appointment. Eligibility includes being a U.S. citizen or national, a lawful permanent resident, or a foreign national authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship. Employees must maintain work authorization without sponsorship for the duration of their appointment.
