Assistant Director of Nursing/RN Safety Nurse
About The Position
White Oak Manor of Tryon is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its nursing leadership team as Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / Safety Nurse. The position supports nursing operations, oversees resident safety programs, and promotes clinical excellence across a 70-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation community and an 18-bed assisted living community. The role is full-time, works a weekday day schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and pays $90,000–$95,000 annually, with a $20,000 sign-on bonus. The ADON supports the Director of Nursing with daily operations, staffing, and clinical oversight; leads resident safety initiatives; and contributes to quality improvement and regulatory compliance. The position also involves coaching nursing personnel, monitoring care practices, providing direct resident care as needed, participating in assigned on-call coverage, and assuming DON responsibilities when necessary.
Requirements
- Active North Carolina RN license.
- Knowledge of resident safety, regulatory compliance, and clinical best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively lead and support a nursing team.
Nice To Haves
- Nursing leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Skilled nursing or long-term care experience strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Nursing with daily operations, staffing, and clinical oversight.
- Lead fall prevention initiatives, incident investigations, and safety interventions.
- Conduct clinical audits, safety rounds, and regulatory compliance reviews.
- Coach, mentor, and support nursing personnel to strengthen clinical performance.
- Participate in QAPI initiatives and implement improvements to resident care and safety.
- Monitor care plans, safety assessments, and resident care practices.
- Assist with direct resident care as needed.
- Participate in assigned on-call coverage.
- Assume Director of Nursing responsibilities when necessary.
