About The Position

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) manages and supervises the facility’s nursing staff and operations to ensure patients receive appropriate healthcare services. Working collaboratively with the Director of Nursing (DON) and other healthcare team members, the ADON oversees and implements nursing policies and procedures, ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines, and maintains a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff. This position is Monday through Friday on the evening shift.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
• Three years of experience in a psychiatric inpatient setting, plus two years of supervisory experience.
• Two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience working exclusively with individuals diagnosed with mental illness or multiple disabilities.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree.
• Knowledge of regulatory agencies, including The Joint Commission, DHSS, and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing staff, including conducting performance reviews and participating in hiring and disciplinary action.
• Evaluate the quality of patient care and implement improvement initiatives in collaboration with Nurse Managers and the Director of Nursing.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
• Participate in developing policies and procedures and conducting hospital-wide employee orientations.
• Provide professional nursing care as needed to respond to workload demands or staffing shortages.
