About The Position
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) manages and supervises nursing staff and facility operations to help ensure patients receive appropriate healthcare services. Working collaboratively with the Director of Nursing (DON) and other members of the healthcare team, the ADON oversees and implements nursing policies and procedures, ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines, and maintains a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff. The position is Monday through Friday on the evening shift.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
- Three years of experience in a psychiatric inpatient setting, plus an additional two years of supervisory experience.
- Two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience working exclusively with individuals diagnosed with mental illness or multiple disabilities.
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of employment.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree.
- Knowledge of regulatory agencies and requirements, including The Joint Commission, DHSS, and the Centers for Medicaid/Medicare Services.
Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff, including conducting performance reviews and taking part in hiring and disciplinary action.
- Evaluate the quality of patient care and implement improvement initiatives in collaboration with Nurse Managers and the DON.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
- Participate in developing policies and procedures and conducting hospital-wide employee orientations.
- Provide professional nursing care as needed in response to workload demands or staffing shortages.
