About The Position

Sun Valley Education is seeking a dynamic, student- and family-centered leader to oversee our Kids Care and Preschool programs. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of the programs, supporting staff, and maintaining high-quality experiences for children and families. As the Assistant Director of Kids Care/Preschool, you will manage program operations, staff, and family engagement while collaborating closely with site leadership to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.

  • High school diploma or GED with 60 hours Early Childhood Education (ECE) trainings plus an additional 12 hours in program administration, planning, development, or management, and 24 months of experience OR Associate's degree in ECE or a closely related field with at least 6 months of experience.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for program operation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including staff, parents, families, and community partners.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must maintain CPR and First Aid Certification (Must be taken and completed in-person)
  • Valid Food Handler's card requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a leadership or management role within a Kids Care or Preschool program.
  • Experience in a charter school or educational setting.
  • Experience with budget management and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support staff, including hiring, training, development, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with Arizona Department of Health Services and Arizona Department of Economic Security regulations.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve program effectiveness, efficiency, and child safety.
  • Collaborate with site leadership to align program operations with organizational and school goals.
  • Manage billing processes and maintain accurate financial and program records.
  • Respond to parent and family inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee special events on campus, coordinating with custodial and support staff to ensure necessary supplies and materials are ready.
  • Maintain program equipment, supplies, and classroom materials to ensure safety and readiness for daily activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support program success and continuity.
  • Maintain professional attire appropriate for an early childhood educational environment.
  • Wear comfortable, professional shoes suitable for walking, stooping, and active engagement with children, staff, and families.
  • Be prepared for a highly interactive role that requires frequent movement, supervision, and hands-on participation.
