Sun Valley Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and talented 5th Grade Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year, with a July start date. As a K-8 Grade Teacher, you will provide academic instruction aligned to Arizona State Standards, prepare and deliver instruction appropriate to the grade level, and utilize school-adopted systems of practice for curriculum, instruction, and assessment. You will assess student progress, use technology to enhance learning, communicate learning goals, and use assessment data to inform instruction. Additionally, you will establish classroom routines, implement student goals from 504 Plans and IEPs, participate in professional learning, document and resolve behavior/attendance issues, reflect on teaching practice, supervise students, and maintain accurate student records. Participation in school-wide events, meetings, and parent conferences is also expected, along with performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree
Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
CPR/First Aid Certification
Minimum one (1) Year teaching Experience

Nice To Haves

Prior knowledge of Spalding, and Beyond Textbooks, and data driven instruction a plus.
Arizona Teaching Certificate, or Reciprocal Out-Of-State Certificate
Master's Degree or higher

Responsibilities

Provide academic instruction aligned to Arizona State Standards.
Prepare and deliver instruction appropriate to the grade level that includes different learning styles, abilities, and interests in accordance with state standards.
Utilize school adopted systems of practice for curriculum, instruction, and assessment including, but not limited to: Beyond Textbooks, Spalding, data submission, and testing protocols.
Assess student progress towards learning targets, objectives, expectations, and/or goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents/guardians, and administration.
Use available technology to enhance student learning.
Communicate learning goals to students and parents or guardians in a well-planned and organized manner.
Use school and state assessment data to inform instruction.
Establish classroom routines and procedures in a positive manner conducive to effective instruction.
Effectively implement student goals outlined in 504 Plans and IEPs.
Participate in grade level and/or school wide professional learning activities.
Document and proactively attempt to resolve issues related to student behavior and/or attendance.
Reflect continually on teaching and professional practice.
Supervise classroom and/or other students in the school in adherence with state laws.
Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by the school and law.
