About The Position

The Assistant Director of Food and Beverage will be responsible for overseeing all dining outlets, banquets, and managing all aspects of staff training and service. This role requires maintaining a high standard of quality with regard to guest and employee satisfaction, and meeting the objectives and standards set forth by the Chatham Bars Inn Service Standards, including Forbes Five-Star Standards, Preferred Legend, and AAA. The position involves contributing to F&B revenue goals, working closely with the Director of Food and Beverage to increase guest count and revenue while maintaining service quality, and ensuring efficient labor cost management through daily and weekly staffing reviews. Additionally, the role requires accountability for operating systems like requisitions and inventory, proper execution of accounting functions, and weekly scheduling for all F&B outlets.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory/management experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years dining room management experience.
  • College education or equivalent, hotel or restaurant management degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated training experience.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enjoys a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Current TIPS Alcohol Certification or comparable alcohol service certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a 4 or 5 Star/Diamond property strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Excel, Outlook, Micros, Open Table, and Delphi preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing all dining outlets and banquets.
  • Managing all aspects of staff training and service.
  • Maintaining a high standard of quality with regard to guest and employee satisfaction.
  • Meeting the objectives and standards set forth by the Chatham Bars Inn Service Standards, Forbes Five-Star Standards, Preferred Legend, and AAA.
  • Ensuring proper, consistent, and successful staff training, including behavioral training, steps of service, and company-wide knowledge training.
  • Hiring, coaching, counseling, disciplining, conducting performance reviews, and terminations.
  • Overseeing the staff during operations.
  • Maintaining presence in the dining rooms and handling guest complaints.
  • Contributing to the achievement of F&B revenue goals.
  • Working closely with the Director of Food and Beverage to strive to increase F&B guest count and total revenue, while maintaining quality of service.
  • Reviewing staffing needs daily and weekly for efficient management of labor cost.
  • Ensuring accountability for successful execution of all operating systems (requisitions, weekly and daily inventory) that impact the efficiency of the operation.
  • Ensuring proper execution of all accounting functions (proper guest check procedures, comp and void procedures, and proper event check posting).
  • Weekly scheduling of all F&B outlets.
