About The Position

EMCC seeks applications from experienced financial aid professionals to fill a crucial role in a fast-paced, high-volume department critical to student success. The successful applicant will be expected to perform the following duties: Administers federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs, including scholarships, grants, student employment, and loans. Verifies enrollment and disburses aid to students in compliance with federal, state, and institutional award parameters. Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations pertaining to the administration of financial aid. Works with multiple student information systems, including, but not limited to: PowerFAIDS, Anthology, COD, and FPS. Is proficient in office software (Google, Word, Excel, etc.) Prepares, analyzes, and develops statistical reports as required, and queries the student information system daily. Manages federal loan processing and monitors entrance and exit counseling and disbursement of loans to student accounts. Monitors Satisfactory Academic Progress and reviews SAP appeals. Assists the Director of Financial Aid in supervision of daily processes, including but not limited to the following areas: federal and state compliance and awarding, student work-study, student inquiries, computer data set-up and retrieval, and federal and state reports. Counsels’ students and families regarding financial aid and the financial aid application process. Evaluate processes and procedures to improve customer service and efficiency. Communicate regularly with Business Office, Registrar, Advising, and other offices. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, education or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • One to three years of administrative experience in higher education.

  • Master’s degree in business, finance, education or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Three to five years of administrative experience in higher education.
  • Understanding of current federal financial aid rules and regulations.
  • Experience administering post-secondary financial aid.
  • Knowledge of PowerFaids and U.S. Department of Education software.
  • Experience with student information systems such as Anthology.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Individual flexibility, integrity, and ability to manage complex and integrated systems.
  • Thorough working knowledge of computer systems and ability and willingness to learn new systems/processes.
