In this role, you’ll support the Facilities Director in overseeing maintenance technicians responsible for guest rooms and the overall facility, ensuring the property remains safe, functional, and visually appealing. The facilities team includes maintenance technicians, skilled tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, etc.), a grounds team, and support personnel. While the Facilities Director leads operations, you will manage maintenance technicians and serve as second in command, stepping in to lead the department in the Director’s absence. As part of our leadership team, you’ll embody our Promise to Lead with Love—guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You’ll enhance the guest and associate experience by ensuring facilities are consistently safe, functional, and well-maintained, creating a comfortable and reliable environment. By supporting daily operations and leading the team when needed, you’ll help minimize disruptions and maintain a high standard of service across the property.

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in facility or maintenance operations, ideally within a hotel or resort environment.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role, managing maintenance or engineering teams.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance systems and capital improvement projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Hospitality Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Certification in building systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing) is a plus.
  • OSHA certification or other safety training (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily maintenance operations (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
  • Monitor resort facilities for safety, functionality, and appearance
  • Assist in developing and managing maintenance budgets
  • Supervise and schedule maintenance staff
  • Support hiring, training, and performance evaluation of team members
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
  • Coordinate inspections and implement corrective actions
  • Manage preventive maintenance programs and repair schedules
  • Assist in planning and executing renovation and improvement projects
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors
  • Respond to urgent maintenance issues impacting guest experience
  • Collaborate with other departments to support smooth resort operations
