About The Position

The Assistant Director of Facilities assists the Director of Facilities with staffing, work assignments, and tasks related to maintaining facilities and grounds in accordance with Tandem Living standards. Responsibilities are carried out in alignment with Tandem Living’s Core Values, Mission Statement, and applicable regulations. This full-time, exempt role participates in an on-call rotation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Five years of experience in skilled maintenance required.
• Three years of supervisory experience required.
• Participates in an on-call rotation.

Nice To Haves

• Additional training in maintenance or a related trade preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, delegate, and monitor resident repair requests, work order completion, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Oversee outside contractors performing facility-related work, including maintenance, groundskeeping, and snow and ice removal.
• Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies.
• Coordinate work schedules, assignments, and tasks with employees and contractors, clearly communicating expectations and performance standards and ensuring they are met.
• Communicate with residents to address complaints and requests promptly and professionally and ensure resident satisfaction.
• Assist in maintaining current knowledge of and ensuring compliance with OSHA requirements, fire safety and disaster procedures, and related documentation and records.
• Participate in the on-call rotation, responding to maintenance emergencies, weather-related events, and snow and ice removal needs to ensure campus safety and continuity of services.
• Assist with overseeing the Security team, which falls under the Facility Department.
