The Assistant Director of Development, Corporate & Foundation Relations, for the A. James Clark School of Engineering is responsible for assisting in achieving the unit goals for corporate and foundation giving, and representing the school strategically to the corporate and foundation communities. The Assistant Director of Development cultivates and solicits new, multifaceted institutional partnerships at all levels and maximizes the return on investment by our partners. In addition to focusing on school and campus-wide priorities, they work with all eight engineering departments as well as several school units, programs and projects. The Assistant Director interfaces regularly with department chairs and school leadership, including advising on best practices for engaging volunteer boards. The Assistant Director is responsible for soliciting gifts from corporate, foundation, and institutional donors giving a minimum of $25,000 and including many larger, more comprehensive partnerships. Success metrics include but are not limited to revenue attainment, number of solicitations and secured gifts, and number of meetings with current and prospective funders. In conjunction with the Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations, they will develop a prospect pipeline and related strategies to maximize engagement and opportunities for investment by corporate, foundation and association funders with the Clark School. The Assistant Director manages and seeks ways to continually enhance the Clark School Corporate Partners Program, including strengthening relationships with current and prospective members, soliciting membership gifts, providing benefits and member support, ensuring proper recognition and overseeing Corporate Partner events. The Assistant Director also provides strategic and administrative fundraising support for student groups and competition teams, including advising them on their case for support and sponsor communications. As a key member of the Engineering Advancement Office, the Assistant Director supports critical college programs such as the Capstone Design Expo.
