The Assistant Director of Counseling & Psychological Services - Clinical & Outreach Services provides organizational leadership in university mental health initiatives in collaboration with the Director and other members of the CAPS leadership team. Specifically, this position oversees the Community Liaison services, including Let’s Talk, as well as other outreach programs and group services. This position may also oversee some of the generalist counselors within CAPS as needed. The Assistant Director guides the vision for ongoing staff development, supervises a team of Counselor Therapist staff, and provides direct clinical services in a limited capacity. Success factors: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills and the ability to speak to a wide range of audiences and communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds, identities, and life experiences. Strong commitment to collaborative work and demonstrated success working with colleagues and other campus partners with varying work styles. Demonstrates sound clinical judgment. Ability to lead, define, and assess the scope of clinical services that support the mission and vision of CAPS, Cornell Health, Student and Campus Life, and Cornell University.
