About The Position

The Assistant Director for the Office of Student Accountability serves as a liaison to University Housing, functioning as the primary administrative hearing officer for minor student conduct matters arising within University Housing facilities, and ensuring timely, educationally grounded resolution of Code of Student Life and Housing policy violations. This position develops and delivers training for Housing staff, provides indirect supervision of Hall Directors related to conduct responsibilities, manages all housing-related case administration, and maintains collaborative communication across campus to connect students with appropriate support resources. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education
  • At least two years of professional experience working in a Higher Education setting directly with students
  • Experience working in or directly with a Student Conduct Process
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Skills to create and present presentations for various outreach opportunities, including content applicable to students, faculty, and staff
  • Skills to assist with maintaining/updating the OSA website and other digital media support for the office
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior in all interactions with students, advisors, faculty, or staff
  • Ability to be openly accountable for actions, decisions, and outcomes
  • Ability to commit to the ideals, philosophy, and direction of The Office of Student Accountability’s stated mission and vision
  • Ability to analyze information skillfully and work well in problem-solving/conflict mediation situations
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team committed to the common goal of helping students experience personal growth and development through their participation in the student conduct process
  • Ability to represent OSA at various outreach events on campus, including New Student Orientation
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • At least three years of professional experience working in a Higher Education setting directly with students
  • Experience working in or closely with University Housing in a Higher Education setting
  • Experience serving as a hearing officer or conducting investigations in the student conduct process
