The Assistant Director for AI Strategy and Engagement is a vital role within the Office of the Vice Provost for Artificial Intelligence, dedicated to advancing Carolina's AI for Public Good mission. This position involves overseeing the daily execution of strategic AI initiatives, cultivating collaboration across academic and administrative departments, supporting stakeholder engagement, and promoting the University's artificial intelligence objectives. The Assistant Director operates with considerable independence and delegated authority, representing the Office, making operational decisions, and ensuring operational continuity when the Vice Provost is unavailable. Collaborating closely with university leadership, faculty, researchers, students, and external partners, the Assistant Director will support the implementation of campus-wide AI initiatives, foster the development of strategic partnerships, and manage communications to showcase the impact of Carolina's AI ecosystem. This role acts as a primary contact for AI-related projects, events, and engagement activities, aiming to enhance collaboration and accelerate the University's leadership in artificial intelligence, innovation, and digital transformation.
