About The Position

The Assistant Director, Exam Services provides strategic leadership and overall management for accommodated and accessible testing within Student Life Disability Services, satellite, and virtual proctoring settings. Operates with a high level of autonomy and minimal supervision; possess significant decision-making authority for all accountabilities related to the exam services staff and facility, that includes but is not limited to staffing decisions, workload/priority management, effective policy and process implementation, integrity breach reporting and testifying at hearings; manages resolution of conflicts with students and stakeholders. The Assistant Director, Exam Services plays a critical role in maintaining compliance with university policies, industry standards, and legal regulations related to disability accommodated test administration of over 25,000+ assessments annually. They are responsible for the integrity, security, and confidential management of academic assessments and student disability information; works closely with the ADA Coordinator and their staff to ensure all practices are within guidance of the ADA Coordinator’s Office; collaborates with Academic Affairs, Student Life, the Registrar’s Office, Testing Center and other university units to procure additional off-site testing locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years’ administrative work experience
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Proven interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • 2 years supervisory experience
  • 4 years customer service experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, database management, and virtual meeting platforms
  • Experience working in a detail-oriented and fast-paced environment
  • Experience designing and implementing educational or training curricula for staff or clients

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree
  • 8 - 12 years’ experience working in higher education, disability or medical services, or student services environment
  • Experience proctoring exams
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Experience with accessibility software (i.e. JAWS, ZOOM TEXT, Read &Write)
