About The Position

The Assistant Deli Manager develops the skills, knowledge, and expertise needed to become a successful Deli Manager. The role supervises deli department operations and helps maintain Lowes Foods guest service, merchandising programs, and operational standards to achieve maximum sales. The Assistant Deli Manager assumes the Department Manager’s duties in their absence.

Requirements

Friendly, outgoing personality.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to lift 25 pounds consistently and 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to read and understand information and directions.
Knowledge of deli operations.
Ability to supervise people, including training and development.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
Ability to communicate effectively with the Store Manager and Merchandiser.
Ability to work well with computers.

Responsibilities

Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from deli department staff.
Achieve budgeted sales, shrink, and profits for the deli department.
Maintain desired inventory and supply levels.
Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
Ensure products for sale meet Lowes Foods quality standards.
Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
Guide, orient, train, and provide feedback to deli department hosts to support satisfactory performance.
Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, and guest service as needed to achieve department standards.
Maintain the department’s labor budget and scheduling standards.
Perform PA announcements.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
