About The Position

The Assistant Deli Manager is trained to gain the skills, knowledge, and expertise needed to become a successful Deli Manager. The role supervises deli department operations and helps ensure that Lowes Foods guest service, merchandising programs, and operating standards are maintained to achieve maximum sales. The Assistant Deli Manager assumes the Department Manager’s duties in their absence.

Requirements

Friendly, outgoing personality.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to read and understand information and direction.
Knowledge of deli operations.
Ability to supervise people, including training and development.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to communicate effectively with the Store Manager and Merchandiser.
Ability to work well with computers.

Responsibilities

Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from deli department staff.
Achieve budgeted sales, shrink, and profits for the deli department.
Maintain desired levels of inventory and supplies.
Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
Ensure products for sale meet Lowes Foods quality standards.
Maintain department sanitation and safety according to Lowes Foods standards.
Provide guidance, orientation, training, and feedback to help deli department hosts meet performance standards.
Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, and guest service as needed to meet standards.
Maintain the department’s labor budget and scheduling standards.
Make PA announcements.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Assume the Department Manager’s duties in their absence.
