About The Position

Personal Touch Food Service is seeking a reliable and motivated Assistant Cook to work at Panama Central School. The role supports meal preparation and service in a fast-paced, student-centered cafeteria, with meals prepared according to established menus and nutritional guidelines. The position follows the school calendar and has no night, weekend, or holiday work. It is part-time and pays $16.50 per hour.

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced school cafeteria environment.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work well in a team.

Nice To Haves

• Previous food service or kitchen experience, especially in a school or institutional setting.
• Valid ServSafe certification, or willingness to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Cook with preparing and serving meals according to established menus and nutritional guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, equipment, and serving areas.
• Help with inventory, food storage, and restocking supplies.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards.
• Support meal service in a busy, student-centered cafeteria.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Cook or Food Service Manager.
