About The Position
The Assistant Cook prepares food for service for residents, patients, employees and visitors.
Requirements
- 2 years of cooking/food production.
- 1 year food safety experience
Nice To Haves
- 3 or more years of cooking in large-scale production kitchen
- Experience cooking in a healthcare environment
- Servsafe or Food Safety Manager certified
- 2 year culinary degree
Responsibilities
- Prepare meals for service per recipe for service to patients and retail customers
- Prepare and serve meals for catering events. Deliver and set-up catering functions
- May fill in as production cook, as needed
- Assist with menu and recipe development
- Adhere to all local, state and federal food safety and sanitation codes
- Accurately complete all temperature logs to ensure food safety
- Maintain all food storage and production areas in inspection-ready condition.
- Monitor overproduction to minimize waste
- Serve patrons and complete sales via POS in retail outlet
- Daily use of Food Service Management software for production sheets
Benefits
- Standard Rate of $18.36 - $23.87 per hour plus benefits
