About The Position

The Assistant Connections Site Director is responsible for coming alongside the Connections Site Director in leading volunteers, building the teams, and implementing the systems that make Crossroads at their site the easiest place to belong. This role creates warm and welcoming environments, ensures excellent first impressions, and builds bridges from weekend experiences into deeper community and personal life change. The Assistant Site Director aids in developing high-capacity volunteer leaders, drives excellent guest and volunteer experiences, and champions pathways that help people move from first visit to fully engaged Christ-followers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, and multiply high-capacity leaders and volunteer teams.
  • Strong connector: naturally builds authentic relationships and networks.
  • Excellent communicator (oral and written)
  • Strong organizational skills and proactively solves problems.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Performs effectively under pressure and strict time constraints.
  • Takes initiative to understand departmental objectives, adapts to a changing and fluid environment.
  • Committed to the Crossroads mission and expectations in the staff “I Promise” document, including using the Bible as the ultimate standard of truth, practicing spiritual disciplines, tithing, and pursuing personal purity.
  • Expected to work outside of “normal” schedule for All Hands on Deck high-impact events (Holy Week/Easter, Super Bowl, Christmas, others as needed), participate in all-staff meetings, day of solitude, offsites, etc.
  • Communicates clearly, directly, and honestly, even under stress, and does so with a sustained positive attitude and demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Sustain and build a strong volunteer community to ensure every guest feels seen, welcomed, and invited into Crossroads.
  • Support execution as well as planning and preparation.
  • Support the Connections Site Director as needed with broader all-site projects and initiatives.
  • Help people get connected: follow up and mobilize toward engaging in one or more of the seven proven practices.
  • Help to oversee teams that create excellent first impressions and relational environments.
  • Recruit new volunteers by maintaining a current list of open roles and potential leaders and personally inviting people to serve.
  • Develop volunteer leaders through simple, consistent training moments, equipping them to lead and train others.
  • Maintain volunteer rosters and data, regularly reviewing activity and trends to inform recruiting, care, and celebration.
  • Stay actively engaged in weekend environments, serving alongside volunteers, coaching in real time, and reinforcing vision and values.
  • Prepare spiritually and practically for each weekend, leading with clarity, intentionality, and prayer.
