Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • No prior experience required
  • Ability to work well with residents, families, and team members
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must maintain regular attendance and comply with all health regulations
  • Must pass post-employment physical exam if required
  • Valid driver’s license required

Nice To Haves

  • Long-term care experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing a program of activities for residents under the supervision of the Life Connection Coordinator.
  • Assist with planned activities based on residents’ comprehensive assessments and care plans.
  • Conduct and/or assist with individual, group, and bedside activities.
  • Encourage and support resident participation in activities and social engagement.
  • Collaborate with staff and other disciplines to enhance resident participation and quality of life.
  • Assist in maintaining required records and documentation for activity programs.
  • Promote and uphold all Residents’ Rights policies and procedures.
  • Maintain safe work areas and ensure proper storage of equipment and supplies.
  • Follow all safety procedures regarding cleaners, hazardous materials, and equipment.
  • Ensure Universal Precautions, Infection Control, and Isolation procedures are followed.
  • Ensure compliance with fire, safety, sanitation, and facility procedures.
  • Promptly report hazardous conditions, accidents, incidents, or equipment issues to the supervisor.
  • Attend all required orientation, in-services, and training sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
