About The Position

The Assistant Community Manager assists in overseeing the day-to-day operations of an apartment community. The role maintains complete financial records by computing, classifying, and recording numerical data, and supports leasing, marketing, and resident relations. It is based onsite and requires a flexible schedule, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends as needed. Compensation is $24.00–$26.00 per hour, plus bonus.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of tax credit experience.
• Related multifamily property management experience.
• Knowledge of HUD rules and regulations and policies and procedures for low-income housing programs.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to sit for extended periods, climb stairs, read documents and computer screens, hear and understand verbal communications, and operate a computer and other office equipment.
• May occasionally need to lift or carry items weighing up to 20 pounds.
• A valid driver’s license is preferred; candidates without one must complete a liability waiver.

Responsibilities

• Perform marketing and leasing functions to maintain budgeted or greater property occupancy.
• Implement resident retention programs, including move-in and service follow-up.
• Maintain positive resident relations and respond to resident concerns to prevent escalation.
• Collect rents and make daily deposits; complete monthly reconciliations.
• Enforce the rent collection policy.
• Process invoices.
• Monitor renewals and distribute and follow up on renewal notices.
• Prepare move-in paperwork promptly and in accordance with housing regulations and company policies.
• Produce monthly reports for the Property Manager.
