About The Position

Under the direction of the head coach, provides quality coaching and instruction to students participating in the Women’s Soccer program. This role involves developing, implementing, and teaching related training sessions and techniques. The Assistant Coach will also recruit student athletes in accordance with NWAC athletic regulations, conference values, and the college’s values and commitment to student success. Responsibilities include helping maintain KCC Athletic facilities, supervising student athletes during program activities, and working cooperatively with the head coach to maintain records on students. The position requires serving as a role model, assisting with player evaluations and team-sponsored fund-raising, and adhering to NWAC and KCC guidelines and policies. A key aspect of the role is promoting KCC athletic programs within the community and maintaining sensitivity and respect for a diverse environment. If assigned, this position may involve administrative work on grant-funded program activities and reporting.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of successful instruction/coaching in high school/college soccer OR four (4) years of participation in college soccer
  • Hold a valid driver's license
  • Two (2) years of successful instruction/coaching in high school/college soccer OR four (4) years of participation in college soccer
  • Passing NWAC required tests

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality coaching and instruction to students participating in the Women’s Soccer program.
  • Develops, implements, and teaches related training sessions and techniques.
  • Recruits student athletes in accordance with NWAC athletic regulations, conference values, and the college’s values and commitment to student success.
  • Helps maintain KCC Athletic facilities used by the Women’s Soccer program.
  • Assists in supervising student athletes on trips and onsite during all program related practices, games, and functions.
  • Works cooperatively with the head coach to maintain and retain records on students, including athletic eligibility, budgets, recruitment, and transportation.
  • Serves as a role model to assist team members in developing and displaying appropriate attitudes and behavior.
  • Assists the head coach in providing post-season evaluation of all players.
  • Assists the head coach in team-sponsored fund-raising throughout the year as approved by KCC.
  • Behaves in a manner consistent with the NWAC codebook, including the NWAC coaches’ code of conduct, coach's standards and procedures, job responsibilities, and concussion management, including passing NWAC required tests.
  • Follows all KCC guidelines, administrative procedures, and policies surrounding athletics.
  • Promotes KCC athletic programs in our community.
  • Maintains sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment.
  • Performs administrative work on grant-funded program activities and reporting, if assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
