About The Position

This position supports the coaching efforts for the women's soccer team, focusing on player development, recruitment, program administration, and compliance. The role involves assisting the Head Women's Soccer Coach in all aspects of training, game planning, and student-athlete development, with a specific emphasis on strength and conditioning, data analysis from GPS devices, and injury mitigation. The assistant coach will also play a key role in identifying and recruiting prospective student-athletes, managing team logistics, and ensuring adherence to all NCAA, conference, and university regulations.

Requirements

  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum of 1 year coaching and/or playing experience at the collegiate level.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with GPS tracking systems.
  • Experience with velocity-based training technology.
  • Experience with data analysis software.
  • Understanding and ability to use recruiting software/databases.
  • Analytical thinking.
  • Ability to work in a high-performance environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support coaching efforts during competitive soccer matches.
  • Attend practices and workouts to assist with training and preparation of student athletes.
  • Assist with on-field coaching, strength development, and game planning.
  • Assist in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes on and off the field.
  • Oversee all weight room, speed, and conditioning development.
  • Collaborate in designing a practice periodization model using GPS data.
  • Work with sports medicine in injury mitigation, rehabilitation, and return-to-play protocols.
  • Assist with on-field coaching, including planning and execution of daily practice sessions and providing in-game strategic feedback.
  • Analyze data from wearable GPS devices to monitor player workload and optimize training programs.
  • Identify and recruit high-quality student-athletes for NCAA Division I/MAC level competition.
  • Assist with team travel logistics, official and unofficial recruit visits, and game day operations.
  • Build relationships with alumni and donors.
  • Ensure all program activities strictly adhere to NCAA, Mid-American Conference (MAC), and University standards.
