About The Position

The Assistant Coach, Swimming instructs and teaches athletes in the fundamentals of swimming, coaching technique and strategy for both the Men's and Women's Swim teams. This role assists in the selection of team members and recruiting activities in compliance with conference, NCAA, and OSU rules and regulations. The Assistant Coach also aids the head coach in coordinating administrative areas of program management, including scheduling of competitions and practices, travel plans, and equipment. Additionally, they monitor the academic progress of student athletes, audit information from academic support services, and ensure compliance with conference, NCAA, and University rules and regulations. This position assists coaching staff in all aspects of managing the office and all logistical and operational needs, including travel, scheduling, equipment management, camp operations, and administrative duties. The Assistant Coach also assists Head Coaches in budget development and oversees purchasing and expenses. They coordinate correspondence for the programs related to recruiting and public relations, and serve as a liaison for the programs with departmental and campus offices, booster and charity organizations, and alumni needs. Finally, they coordinate special events and community involvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience coaching the sport of swimming required.
  • Ability to communicate and work with a diverse population required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience working with NCAA rules and regulations desired.
  • Master's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
