About The Position

The Riverdale School District is seeking an Assistant Coach for 5th & 6th Grade Volleyball for the 2026-27 school year. This role is a limited-term coaching position reporting to the Athletic Director. The Riverdale Vision is for students to learn to use their minds well, engage creatively, and act compassionately. The mission is to develop inquisitive, imaginative, and eager learners who demonstrate academic mastery and become effective communicators and responsible leaders. Requirements

• High ethical and professional standards.
• OSAA Coaching Certification
• NFHS/ASEP Certification
• First Aid Card (CPR and AED trained)
• District Fingerprinting/Criminal Check

Responsibilities

• Direct a successful program and oversee all facets of an entire community youth program.
• Be a role model for student-athletes.
• Cooperate with other school-sponsored sports by encouraging student-athletes to compete in other programs.
• Develop and implement an off-season program.
• Lead student-athletes in the support of other Riverdale School District athletics and activities.
• Directly responsible to the head coach and is expected to carry out the same responsibilities as the head coach when put in charge of a team.
• Carry out all duties and responsibilities that are asked of them within the rules and regulations of the district.
• Follow the policy set by the administrator.
• Display a competitive spirit, possess emotional self-control, set goals and standards for themselves and the team they represent, and reflect the school and district philosophy of athletics.
• Enlist participants and create interest in the activity by whatever means are available.

• Salary, fringe benefits, working conditions, and the like are negotiated every three years between the Riverdale School Board and the Riverdale Teachers Association.
