About The Position

The 5th & 6th Grade Football Coach will be responsible for coaching student athletes in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary for individual and team success during the 2026 Fall Season. The role requires knowledge of coaching strategies, MHSAA rules, and motivational techniques, serving as a positive role model. The coach must be able to communicate effectively, build positive relationships with student athletes, and work collaboratively with parents, staff, students, and the public in a diverse community. A commitment to fostering cultural competence and equitable treatment is essential.

Requirements

  • Coaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of coaching strategies and methods.
  • Ability to instruct and lead student athletes in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary for individual and team success.
  • Knowledge of MHSAA rules and standards.
  • Knowledge of and use of a variety of motivational techniques.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with student athletes.
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with parents, staff, students, and the public in a multicultural and multiracial community.
  • Knowledge and awareness of own cultural identity and how this influences behavior, and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others.
  • Ability to establish and nurture an environment that promotes cultural competence and equitable treatment of staff, students, and patrons of the District.
  • Ability to recognize that each person is a unique individual even as we celebrate their group cultural heritage.
