About The Position

Riverdale School District is seeking a Head Coach for the 7th & 8th Grade Volleyball program for the 2026-27 school year. This role involves directing a successful program, overseeing community youth engagement, and serving as a positive role model for student-athletes. The coach will also be responsible for managing training, practice schedules, hiring assistant coaches, communicating with parents, tracking academic progress, and developing off-season programs. The position emphasizes high ethical and professional standards and cooperation with other school-sponsored sports.

Requirements

• High ethical and professional standards.
• OSAA Coaching Certification
• NFHS/ASEP Certification
• First Aid Card (CPR and AED trained)
• District Fingerprinting/Criminal Check

Responsibilities

• Direct a successful 7th-8th grade program and oversee all facets of an entire community youth program.
• Be a role model for high school student-athletes.
• Cooperate with other school-sponsored sports by encouraging student-athletes to compete in other programs.
• Develop and implement an off-season program.
• Lead student-athletes in the support of other Riverdale School District athletics and activities.
• Manage all aspects of the high school program, including training, practice schedules, and routines.
• Hire and oversee a staff of assistant coaches.
• Provide regular communication with parents/families.
• Regularly track the academic progress of all student-athletes in the program and facilitate necessary support to ensure their academic eligibility.
• Cooperate with other school-sponsored sports and encourage athletes to compete in other programs.
• Develop and implement an off-season athletics program.

Benefits

• Salary, fringe benefits, working conditions, and the like are negotiated every three years between the Riverdale School Board and the Riverdale Teachers Association.
