Requirements

• Faculty physician for Emory's night-shift inpatient Hospital Medicine
• Devote between 1% and 25% of total professional effort to scholarly activities
• Participate in scholarship, which may include authorship of manuscripts, participation in research studies, abstract presentations, professional blogs, and other scholarly activities
• Devote between 1% and 25% of total professional effort to teaching
• Participate in teaching, which may include occasional lectures, small group and bedside teaching, preceptorship, and mentorship
• Devote more than 75% of total professional effort to professional service
• Perform duties as an inpatient Hospital Medicine physician on professional service
• Bedside procedures as needed and credentialed for

Responsibilities

• History and physical examinations of patients being admitted to the hospital
• Assessing the acuity of hospitalized patients and ensuring a proper level of care
• Bedside procedures as needed and credentialed for
• Consultations services for specialty provider partners
• Order consultations from specialty provider partners
• Initiating contact with primary care providers and teams in the outpatient setting in order to ensure appropriate continuity of care
• Working with trainees, which may include allied health professionals
