About The Position

The University of Dayton is seeking a passionate Assistant Clinical Professor for the Department of Health and Sport Science, Nursing Program. This role involves shaping the next generation of nurses, exploring innovative teaching approaches, and engaging in service opportunities. The department is a growing, successful unit with over 700 students across multiple undergraduate and graduate programs. The University, grounded in its Catholic, Marianist tradition, emphasizes developing the whole student, social justice, and experiential learning, enrolling approximately 9,700 students. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution
  • Three years’ experience as a practicing RN
  • A current, valid, unencumbered Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for obtaining an Ohio RN license
  • Articulated ability to support the School and University of Dayton’s commitment to inclusive excellence.
  • Effective written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, teaching, and evaluating courses in the University of Dayton’s BSN pathway completion program.
  • Assisting as the program transitions into a stand-alone pre-licensure program.
  • Working collaboratively with the Nursing Program Director and interdisciplinary faculty.
  • Engaging in impactful service opportunities that advance the common good.
  • Supporting the School and University of Dayton’s commitment to inclusive excellence.
  • Conducting clinical work one day per week during the Fall and Spring semesters, and during the 3-month summer break.
