About The Position

Emory University is seeking an Assistant Professor of Medicine for its Division of Hospital Medicine. This role involves serving as an inpatient Hospital Medicine faculty physician at one of Emory's sites: Emory University Hospital, Emory Johns Creek Hospital, Emory University Hospital Midtown, or Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital. The position requires a commitment to scholarly activities, teaching, and professional service, with the majority of effort dedicated to patient care.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physical examinations of patients admitted to the hospital.
  • Assess the acuity of hospitalized patients and ensure they receive an appropriate level of care.
  • Perform bedside procedures as needed and credentialed for.
  • Provide consultation services for specialty provider partners.
  • Order consultations from specialty provider partners.
  • Initiate contact with primary care providers and teams in the outpatient setting to ensure appropriate continuity of care.
  • Work with trainees, which may include allied health professionals, on some months.
  • Adhere to clinical schedules in accordance with internal Division policy and procedures and actual clinical effort.
