This position will be physically located on Ascension Island in support of AFCAP. The Assistant Chief of Operations is responsible for the day-to-day guidance and coordination for fire protection functions ensuring effective and economical operations of all activities. Functional work includes, but is not limited to, planning and organization of work, responding to emergency calls, investigating fires, monitoring the Fire Control Center, training personnel, completing required reports and plans to assure the daily operational effectiveness of the department. The qualified candidate shall report to the Fire Chief should develop a training program to ensure all Fire/EMS responders are certified by the DoD Fire and Emergency Services Certification program IAW DoDM 6055.06, AFI 32-2001, Air Force F&ES EMS Playbook, and/or a certification program approved by the COR. The Contractor shall ensure that all training is scheduled, tracked, and performed IAW the Air Force Fire and Emergency Services Training Program (FESTP) and documented in FES-IMS. Minimum training requirements will be contingent on firefighter’s Tier and duty position.
