About The Position

This is a 1-year contract position where you will partner with the Department Manager to help lead the delivery of exceptional food and service experiences that reflect Farm Boy’s commitment to the best fresh shopping experience. Through hands-on leadership, coaching, and operational support, you will help drive daily excellence while building an engaged, trusting, and high-performing team. You will deliver warm, confident, and engaging customer service, work closely with the Department Manager to execute departmental strategies and achieve stated goals, and support team development through training, coaching, motivation, and recognition. You will also build a positive, collaborative team culture by leading regular huddles, bring our food experience to life by preparing and cooking fresh offerings for our hot and cold bar and grill stations, and support daily department operations to ensure excellent customer service, effective merchandising and rotation, adequate staffing coverage, and consistently high cleanliness standards. Additionally, you will provide office and administrative support including inventory management, ordering, invoicing, scheduling, and payroll functions, promote clear communication and adherence to company policies and government regulations, and follow all corporate policies and procedures with a strong focus on Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP compliance, and proper equipment use. You will also support store operations by assuming other related duties on a periodic basis.

Requirements

• A genuine passion for delivering engaging and exceptional customer service.
• Completion of a post-secondary program with an emphasis in Culinary Management, plus a minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a similar role (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment by effectively managing priorities while maintaining a high level of performance.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, supported by strong mathematical aptitude.
• Comfort learning and using manual and automated systems, with prior experience working with a variety of computer software programs.
• Thrive in a hands-on setting that involves extended periods of standing, heavy lifting, and work that may be performed in cooler, freezer, and outdoor conditions.
• Flexibility to work a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in English
