Assistant Brewer
About The Position
Manhattan Project Beer Co. is hiring an Assistant Brewer to support brewing and production while upholding the brewery’s standards for quality and innovation. The role includes helping with brewing-system workflow, monitoring products during processing and fermentation, performing quality measurements and sensory analysis, and supporting product development. The Assistant Brewer also operates and maintains production equipment, assists with production-area cleanliness and organization, and uses forklifts and scissor lifts to support operations. The work takes place in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment and includes rotating morning and afternoon shifts plus biweekly weekend duties of approximately two hours.
Requirements
- Desire to become a professional brewer and passion for the craft.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Assist production staff with brewing-system workflow across 50 bbl, 30 bbl, 3 bbl, and 10-gallon systems.
- Monitor products in process and fermentation.
- Conduct daily measurements and sensory analysis and make process decisions to support product quality.
- Participate in product-development tastings and sensory panels.
- Operate and maintain the centrifuge, CIP skid, and other equipment.
- Drive and operate forklifts and scissor lifts to support production.
- Maintain a clean and organized production area.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain attention to detail during production.
