About The Position

The Assistant Bank Manager supports the daily operations of a full-service branch, helps lead branch staff, ensures exceptional client service, and advances operational excellence and sales activities. The role includes hands-on development of team members and oversight of branch operations in the Bank Manager’s absence to maintain continuity of service. The Assistant Bank Manager also supports branch growth initiatives, client needs, complex transactions, and special projects related to product conversions and new product development.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• At least 1 year of direct or indirect leadership experience.
• Adhere to applicable regulatory compliance and personnel policies, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), confidentiality, information security and ethical standards; complete required online compliance and regulatory courses.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of Independent Bank products and services to provide excellent client service and introduce additional products through referrals when appropriate.
• Ability to demonstrate and train Bank clients and prospects on deposit products at their place of business.
• Represent the Bank in the community through good customer relations.
• Available to travel throughout the region or state to work at other branches or attend meetings.

Responsibilities

• Support daily branch operations, including administration policies, procedures and audits; staffing, scheduling and coaching; and client escalation issues.
• Share responsibility with the Branch Manager for staff development, including training, coaching, performance evaluation and disciplinary actions.
• Provide new product and service training to clients and staff.
• Assist clients with account migration from other banks, account maintenance and loan support.
• Serve as the primary backup for teller line operations.
• Serve as a point of contact for branch personnel and customers with operational questions, including override authorities.
• Support branch growth initiatives, including promoting Independent Bank.
• Participate in special projects relating to product conversions and new product development.
• Assist with complex transactions, including overrides and functions requiring additional authorization levels.
• Oversee branch operations in the Bank Manager’s absence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
