About The Position

The Assistant Bakery Manager supports and oversees daily Bakery Department operations at Albertsons Companies. The role focuses on maintaining product quality, freshness, and presentation; providing excellent customer service; and managing production and department performance. It is a fast-paced, hands-on leadership position responsible for developing associates and contributing to sales, freshness, and store success.

• Knowledge of food safety standards, temperature controls, allergen handling, and sanitation procedures.
• Knowledge of retail bakery operations and high-volume production environments.
• Ability to review sales, labor, and production data to inform departmental planning.
• Ability to train, coach, and develop associates at various skill levels.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in hot and cold temperature environments.
• Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable attendance and compliance with company safety policies and Code of Business Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Bakery Department operations and maintain standards for quality, freshness, presentation, and customer service.
• Create a welcoming, customer-focused environment and resolve customer concerns and special orders.
• Plan and execute daily bakery production based on sales trends and seasonal demand.
• Execute merchandising plans, promotions, planograms, and seasonal programs.
• Manage department sales, labor, scheduling, ordering, inventory, and shrink.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.
• Hire, train, coach, and develop bakery associates while promoting teamwork and accountability.
