The Department of Law's mission is to serve the citizens of the State of Georgia by providing legal representation of the highest quality to the agencies, officers, and employees of state government and by honorably and vigorously carrying out the constitutional and statutory responsibilities of the Attorney General. The Department of Law is organized into the Executive Office, five legal divisions, four specialty units, and an operations division. This position is part of an attorney applicant pool open to all vacancies within the Department. Applicants can specify their division/section of interest. The department is divided into the following legal divisions: Regulated Industries and Professions (Env, State Licensing Bd, Regulated Ind.), Commercial Transactions and Litigation (Tax, Bus & Fin and Real Estate), Criminal Justice (Capital Lit & Post Conviction and Public Safety), General Litigation (Torts, Workers' Comp, and Civil Rights), Government Services & Employment (Education, Labor/Emp and Ethics), Prosecutions (Gangs, Human Trafficking and Organized Retail Crime), Medicaid Fraud, Consumer Protection, and the Solicitor General’s Unit.
