About The Position

Under limited supervision, performs professional legal work for the State, its subdivisions, and officials. Assigned to the Securities Section as Assistant Attorney General. Represents the Securities and Money Services Sections in the investigative stages of securities and money services cases. Following the investigation, make recommendations regarding the appropriate resolution of assigned cases. Prepares pleadings related to assigned cases. Successfully negotiates assigned cases. Represent the Securities and Money Services Sections in the trial or hearing and appellate phases of assigned cases. Perform other duties as assigned by the Division Director or the Attorney General.

Requirements

  • A Juris Doctorate Degree
  • At least 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
  • Must be a member and in good standing with the SC Bar.
  • Must satisfy Rule 403 requirements.
  • Position may be required to travel to court and transport files.
  • Some travel is required.
