About The Position

The Ohio Attorney General’s Office, Chief Counsel and Litigation Services Section, is currently seeking an experienced, licensed attorney with a passion for public service to join its team. This position will work a hybrid in-person/remote schedule. There may be changes to this schedule based on training and operational needs. Headquarter location can be either Columbus or Cleveland. The Ohio Attorney General’s Office has played a vital role in shaping Ohio’s past and present and the work it does today helps chart the state’s future. The office consists of nearly 30 distinct sections that advocate for consumers and victims of crime, assist the criminal justice community, provide legal counsel for state offices and agencies, and enforce certain state laws. In these and other capacities, staff members interact with tens of thousands of Ohioans each year.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio pursuant to Section 4705.01 of the Ohio Revised Code
  • 5 years of experience using an eDiscovery platform, Everlaw preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultation and strategic guidance to attorneys throughout the eDiscovery process, including data preservation, collection strategies, and defensible, cost-effective workflows.
  • Utilize eDiscovery platform analytics and AI tools to process, analyze, search, and produce litigation documents in compliance with Civil Rules of Procedure, ESI agreements, and client specifications.
  • Provide guidance on eDiscovery documents including ESI agreements, Clawback Agreements, Custodial Interview Questionnaires, Document Review Protocols and 502(D) Orders.
  • Support onboarding, training and troubleshooting of eDiscovery platforms for case teams and document reviewers.
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging eDiscovery and GenAI technologies, advising teams on safe, ethical, and defensible implementation to optimize review efficiency.
  • Implement and standardize best practices across offices, improving workflows and quality control.
  • Develop and deliver presentations for staff on emerging trends, best practices and eDiscovery law.
  • Conduct thorough legal research on eDiscovery topics.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of the office’s annual eDiscovery Symposium.
