About The Position

The Assistant Athletic Director at Monticello High School will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of the athletic program. This role requires a strong understanding of VHSL rules and regulations, the ability to develop student-athletes, and excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with students, parents, and the community. The position involves organizing practice schedules, developing discipline that emphasizes teamwork and sportsmanship, and possessing extensive knowledge of individual and team fundamentals for various sports.

Requirements

• Knowledge of VHSL rules and regulations.
• Ability to develop and train AA student-athletes.
• Personal skills that reflect positive relations with high school student-athletes, parents and the community.
• Extensive knowledge of the principles of individual and team fundamentals of the listed sports.
• Ability to organize and prepare practice schedules.
• Ability to develop a solid discipline that emphasizes team work and good sportsmanship.
• Previous coaching experience is required.
• Must disclose prior convictions of law other than minor traffic violations or juvenile offenses.

Nice To Haves

• Successful completion of VIAAA Athletic Administrators Workshop and/or NIAAA certification preferred.
• Hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license.
