About The Position

The Assistant Athletic Director for the Annual Fund oversees the Mean Green Athletic Fund (MGAF) renewal process and coordinates internal fundraising and promotional campaign activities to enhance donor retention, engagement, and support for Athletics. The University of North Texas competes as a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the American Athletic Conference. North Texas’ athletic programs are classified as NCAA Division I, the largest and highest division among all colleges and universities. The 46,000 square-foot Athletic Center located off South Bonnie Brae Street is the centerpiece of North Texas athletics. Athletics strives to conduct a competitive athletics program that promotes faculty, staff, student and community affiliation and participation with the North Texas Athletics. Provide facilities which attract the highest level of talent and allow student-athletes to perform at the highest level in practice and during competition.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and four years of professional experience in fundraising, donor relations, public relations, or sales: or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Extensive knowledge of philanthropy, donor relations, and fundraising principles, including annual giving, stewardship, and donor engagement strategies.
Demonstrated ability to establish, cultivate, and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external constituents, donors, alumni, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
Proven ability to plan, organize, develop, and execute strategic initiatives that advance organizational goals and fundraising objectives.
Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to mentor, coach, and develop colleagues and direct reports to achieve individual and team success.
Strong ability to effectively manage time, personnel, financial resources, and physical assets while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage audiences and represent the organization professionally.
Ability to quickly learn, interpret, and apply University policies, procedures, and regulations while exercising sound judgment and discretion in complex situations.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions and drive results in a dynamic environment.
Proficiency in managing confidential information and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.

Responsibilities

Oversees the Mean Green Athletic Fund (MGAF) renewal process and coordinates internal fundraising and promotional campaign activities to enhance donor retention, engagement, and support for Athletics.
Manages Mean Green Athletic Fund (MGAF) operations, including business processes such as donor database maintenance, CRM management, gift processing, and donation collection.
Develops and oversees MGAF communications and marketing initiatives, including the creation of promotional materials and execution of multi-channel marketing strategies through social media, web platforms, email campaigns, and direct mail to enhance donor engagement and fundraising outcomes.
Oversees MGAF donor stewardship, benefit fulfillment, and fundraising events.
Manages and cultivates relationships with Mean Green Athletic Fund (MGAF) donors and prospective donors to secure annual, major, and capital gifts in support of UNT Athletics.
Performs other duties as assigned that support the strategic goals, operational effectiveness, and overall success of the Athletics Department and the Mean Green Athletic Fund (MGAF).
