George Fox University's College of Nursing is seeking a faculty member for its growing pre-licensure baccalaureate program. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse populations across the lifespan and a passion for serving vulnerable and underserved communities. Experience as a nurse educator with classroom, simulation, and clinical teaching experience is also highly valued. Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing.
  • Current, unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of five years practicing as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Excellent professional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining consistently high professional standards.
  • The demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a growing, innovative team.
  • The ability to work full-time, in-person.
  • A commitment to working with a diverse population of students.
  • A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church.
  • Employees agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate in Nursing or relevant field.
  • CNE or CHSE.
  • Experience as a nurse educator in classroom, simulation, and clinical teaching settings at a higher education institution.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a diverse population of students.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching theory, clinical and simulation/lab nursing courses, including Acute Care, Nutrition, and/or Pharmacology.
  • Establishing and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Participating in the ongoing and innovative work of the College of Nursing.
  • Developing and maintaining professional working relationships with healthcare agency professionals and other campus educators.
  • Engaging in scholarship that contributes to the advancement of nursing as a profession.
  • Participating in the work of the department and the university, including advising and serving on university committees as needed.
  • Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
  • Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.
  • Other duties as assigned.
