About The Position

Southeastern Louisiana University's School of Nursing invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing to begin Spring 2026. This position will teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate level as needed. Teaching efforts must demonstrate activities that encourage interaction with other students, faculty, the university, and/or the community, and support student success and learning in the classroom and clinical setting. The successful candidate must have a record of continuous professional development and engage in scholarly activities such as research, publishing, and presenting. Service to the University through committee work and participation in special projects and activities, service to students through academic and career guidance and participation in and support of student activities, and service to the community through activities utilizing professional knowledge and expertise, are expected of this position.

Requirements

• A doctorate degree in Nursing conferred by the date of hire
• An unencumbered RN license in the state of Louisiana
• Two years clinical experience as an RN
• Must be committed to working with diversity
• Proficient computer skills (i.e., word processing, presentation software, spreadsheets, etc.)
• Effective interpersonal communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Prior teaching experience
• APRN Certification
