About The Position

Reinhardt University invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the Cauble School of Nursing and Health Sciences. This is a renewable 9-month appointment, starting August 10, 2026. Nursing faculty report to the Dean of the Cauble School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Full-time faculty members are expected to teach 12 credit hours per semester, which may include clinical or lab assignments as well as didactic courses. Additional duties encompass academic advising for nursing majors, service on school and university faculty committees, and ongoing professional development. Candidates must demonstrate effective teaching, service, and scholarship, aligning with Reinhardt's mission to educate the whole person with challenge and care. Founded in 1883, Reinhardt University is a private comprehensive university grounded in the liberal arts and affiliated with the United Methodist Church. It offers over 40 graduate and undergraduate programs and is located in Waleska, Georgia, 45 miles north of mid-town Atlanta. The Cauble School of Nursing and Health Sciences provides a traditional BSN prelicensure program, aiming to equip students to become Registered Nurses through modern teaching and learning strategies. The school is SACSCOC accredited, has full approval from the Georgia Board of Nursing, and CCNE accreditation.

Requirements

  • Earned MSN (PhD or DNP Preferred)
  • Unencumbered Georgia RN license
  • 5 years clinical nursing experience
  • Commitment to academic challenge in an environment of care that is consistent with Reinhardt University's educational mission to educate the whole person and historic affiliation with the United Methodist Church

Responsibilities

  • Effectively teach twelve credit hours of course work in fall and spring terms
  • Serve as academic advisor and mentor for an average of 25 students
  • Assist associate dean and school dean with assessment of student learning and develop strategies for educational improvement
  • Support efforts to retain students through the Early Alert program
  • Grow and develop professionally through scholarship within the discipline and generally as university teacher
  • Participate as an active citizen of the University community by attending University-wide ceremonies, academic events, and co-curricular events
  • Respond to deadlines established by the provost, the registrar, the school dean, the associate dean, and the bookstore manager
  • Participate in faculty governance and shared governance of the University
  • Perform additional and appropriate duties as may be assigned by school dean, the provost, or the president to accomplish the mission of the University
  • Coordination, lesson planning, and grading for the nursing student in both the didactic and clinical setting
  • Participation in accreditation, curriculum revision, and research opportunities associated with school
