About The Position

Regis University, a Jesuit institution in the Denver, Colorado metro area, is seeking full-time Assistant/Associate Professors for its Department of Counseling. This department, co-housed with the Department of Couple and Family Therapy within the School of Mental and Behavioral Health and the Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions, utilizes a state-of-the-art training clinic, maintains strong community partnerships, and offers inter-professional education opportunities. The faculty will facilitate student-directed learning in an atmosphere emphasizing accountability and teamwork. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in various teaching methods and a collaborative spirit with diverse groups. These positions will serve both the in-person master’s program and the new hybrid online Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision launching in fall 2025. Most duties will be performed at the Interprofessional Health Campus in Thornton, Colorado. Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) applicants are encouraged to apply. Faculty presence is required on Wednesdays from 9 AM to 2 PM and for evening classes. This role is not suitable for remote-only faculty. The preferred start date is August 24th, 2026.

Requirements

  • An earned doctoral degree in counselor education, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program; or a related doctoral degree and employed as full-time faculty in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013.
  • Licensed as a Professional Counselor or eligible for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate in Colorado within two months of the start date.
  • Experience integrating research with practice and teaching.

  • Expertise in at least one of the following areas: A strong record of peer-reviewed publications in counseling journals, including at least one peer-reviewed article published within the past year in an ACA- or ASCA-endorsed journal, and a commitment to collaborating with colleagues to foster a culture of research excellence.
  • Proven success in online teaching and curriculum design, with expertise in hybrid and online learning models.
  • Commitment to the values of the Regis Jesuit mission and fostering a sense of community and belonging.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish-speaking).
