The University of Louisiana at Monroe College of Pharmacy seeks a tenure-track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in Basic Pharmaceutical and Toxicological Sciences. Faculty responsibilities span teaching, scholarship, and service. Tenure-track faculty are expected to develop an independent, extramurally funded research program that contributes new knowledge and establishes scholarly recognition at the national and international levels. Promotion and tenure decisions follow School and University guidelines, with greatest emphasis on teaching and scholarly activities. The relative weight assigned to teaching, service, and scholarship will depend on the faculty member’s skills, external funding, available university resources, and institutional needs. Faculty teach basic and advanced pharmaceutical sciences to professional and graduate students, with teaching assignments determined by the School Director. Teaching may include coordinating or co-coordinating team-taught courses, lecturing and preparing timely examination questions for taught material, and teaching a course as its coordinator and lecturer. Faculty also serve the College and University through committee work, ceremonies and events, professional organizations, and community service. The search includes three areas of emphasis. Position 1, Analytical Toxicology and Regulatory Pharmaceutical Sciences, seeks expertise in analytical toxicology, pharmaceutical sciences, regulatory science, or a related area. The faculty member will teach and conduct research in the PharmD and graduate Toxicology programs. Relevant interests include modern analytical methods such as LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, and HPLC/UPLC; method development and validation; quality systems; pharmaceutical and product quality; cannabis/hemp analysis; environmental contaminants; exposure assessment; and toxicant identification. The role may also contribute expertise to analytical testing, product safety, and interdisciplinary research initiatives. Position 2, Molecular Toxicology, Metabolism and Nutritional Biochemistry, seeks expertise in areas such as metabolism, molecular pharmacology, nutritional biochemistry, molecular toxicology, endocrine biology, or chronic disease mechanisms. The faculty member will teach and conduct research in the PharmD and graduate Toxicology programs. Areas of interest include obesity, diabetes, cardiometabolic disease, inflammation, oxidative stress, endocrine disruption, and metabolic toxicology. Candidates whose research complements interdisciplinary initiatives in nutrition, chronic disease, and Food Is Medicine are encouraged to apply. Position 3, Neuroanatomy, Neuroscience and Neuropharmacology/Toxicology, involves teaching in areas such as anatomy, neuroanatomy, brain function, physiology, and/or central nervous system pharmacology, while developing an active research and graduate education program in neuroscience, neuropharmacology, neurotoxicology, or a related discipline. Research interests may include brain function, neurodegenerative disease, neuroendocrinology, CNS pharmacology, neurotoxicology, and environmental influences on the nervous system.
