About The Position

The Assistant Allied Health Director is responsible to provide and oversee the provision and supervision of professional care services of Allied Health Providers in a Patient Centered Health Home context, with a focus on access to care.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree program with a recognized major with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5; OR Successful attainment and maintenance of a valid, active professional license required for the role, issued by the appropriate governing or regulatory body.
  • Four years of leadership experience or five years of progressively greater responsibility or significant contributions to projects and initiatives that demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Equivalent of extensive formal training as Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife or Physician Assistant, including an understanding of the application of the theory and practices of the profession to the operation of the organization.
  • A minimum credit score of 650.
  • Ability to prepare more complex documents in Microsoft Word, including creating tables, charts, graphs and other elements.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel to analyze data, including the use of formulas, functions, lookup tables and other standard spreadsheet elements.
  • Ability to develop sophisticated presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint, including the use of embedded objects, transitions and other elements.
  • Licensed in the state of California as a Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife, or a Physician Assistant.
  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, opinions and extrapolations of information collected and synthesized/analyzed.
  • Responsible for the resolution of conflicts.
  • Compiles, analyzes and prepares information in an effective written form, including correspondence, reports, articles or other documentation.
  • Effectively conveys technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Regularly required to sit and use repetitive hand movement to type and grasp.
  • Frequently required to stand and walk.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Provides management to departmental staff, including performance management, hiring/firing recommendations, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence, developing action plans, empowering staff, delegating duties, assisting with budget development and monitoring, ensuring regulatory compliance, overseeing staff training and development, recommending workflow/policy changes, and ensuring employee-related reporting and tracking.
  • Provides direct provision and supervision of professional care services of Allied Health providers, including implementing clinical protocols, establishing goals, assessing provider needs, assisting with recruitment, preparing orientation schedules, and ensuring room assignments and scheduling.
  • Assists in the design, implementation, and execution of programs at the Network.
  • Provides direct provision of primary care medical services meeting all established productivity expectations, including examinations, reviewing results, documenting visits, attaining budgeted visits, meeting clinical care measures, and locking records within the 72-hour window.
  • Meets Allied Health professional focus and goals by providing comprehensive, continuous, and coordinated medical care, including health promotion, illness prevention, management of chronic diseases, advocating for access to healthcare, consulting with physicians and team members, and working within the Patient Centered Health Home model.
  • Accountable for providing excellent customer service and care, behaving with courtesy, being aware of wait times, and providing appropriate patient education.
  • Accountable for patient status as measured by relevant clinical quality measures, promoting daily huddles, incorporating ancillary health team members, setting and monitoring self-management plans, assuring clinical procedures, and completing chart and peer reviews.
  • Assists the patient care team with performance improvement efforts, staff education, and FHCN promotion, including participating in student rotations, health fairs, and meetings.
  • Meets Network and credentialing expectations for licensure and employment.
  • Adheres to the Attendance and Absenteeism Policy.
  • Ability to present to and work at any FHCN location based on business need.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
